    Commissioners,

    Since paving Lucky Nugget Road was finished, the road has turned into a speedway. Most drivers go over 60 mph, and on the straightaway
    behind the lake, vehicles often exceed 70 mph. Lucky Nugget Road’s speed limit is 35 mph. It's common for semi-trucks to use their engine
    brakes at the corner of Jet Ski Beach at any time of day or night because they are going too fast. As a neighborhood, this behavior is not acceptable. Both
    contractors working on the South Railroad Mining project and residents are driving too fast. Drivers often cross the double yellow line to pass
    others going the speed limit.

    Lucky Nugget subdivision is a residential area, and now that school has started, kids are walking home from the bus stop. Residents walk and
    bike along the road. On weekends, the road is crowded with pickups, travel trailers, UTVs, and ATVs. There’s no space for speeders, semi-trucks,
    or lowboys.

    What needs to be done? 1. The Sheriff’s department should regularly patrol the area. 2. More signs showing the speed limit should be posted;
    currently, the only sign is when you turn onto Lucky Nugget Road at the causeway. 3. Signs saying engine brakes are not allowed need to be put
    up. 4. Orla Mining should find a different route for their large equipment that doesn’t go through a residential neighborhood.

    Why doesn’t a property owner's right to quiet enjoyment exist in Elko County? I moved out to Southfork to escape traffic and noise.
