F.1) Pursuant to Notice 2024-24, discussion and consideration to award the bid for the Lamoille Canyon Mechanically Stabilized Earth (MSE) Wall Project.    Bids were opened on September 23, 2024 at 1:00 pm.  Two bids were received as follows: Great Basin Engineering - $882,288.25 MKD Construction - $877,777     During review of the submitted bids, the US Forest Service realized that the specification for the MSE wall backfill material was inaccurate and may not be readily available in the local area.  In addition, the base bids are higher than the allocated funds of $700,000 provided through a cooperative agreement with the U.S. Forest Service.    Staff and the U.S. Forest recommend that both bids be rejected due to the incorrect material specification.  The Forest Service will revise the design and specifications to allow for backfill material that is readily available in the area and would like to bid the project again at a later date.
