Q.2) Discussion and consideration to approve the purchase of two law enforcement vehicles for two detectives that support the Great Basin Children's Advocacy Center (CAC) in an amount not to exceed $173,000.  One detective is employed by the Elko County Sheriff's Office and one detective is employed by the Elko Police Department. The detectives are primarily dedicated to investigating child physical and sexual abuse and adult sexual abuse cases.    The estimated quote is based on 2024 vehicles and costs may increase or fluctuate slightly due to the transition period between 2024 and 2025 models.  The amount requested considers the potential price increase.     The vehicles will be purchased with grant funds provided by the Pennington Foundation.  The budget committee reviewed the request on July 10, 2024 and recommends approval.  Should the request be approved, one of the vehicles will be donated to the Elko Police Department which will be responsible for insuring and maintaining the vehicle.
