J.2) Discussion and consideration to enter an agreement to collaborate with Nevada Department of Transportation and a third-party technical consultant to develop a local road safety plan (LRSP) for Elko County.   A local road safety plan (LRSP) provides a framework for identifying, analyzing, and prioritizing roadway safety improvements on local roads. The LRSP development process and content are tailored to local issues and needs. The process results in a prioritized list of issues, risks, actions, and improvements that can be used to reduce fatalities and serious injuries on local roads.   Potential projects include signage upgrades, increased traffic enforcement, and maintenance to routes which enable more efficient public safety response.   NDOT will cover the cost to develop the plan with no local match required.
