K.1) Discussion and consideration of restructuring the Building and Maintenance Supervisor position to a Facilities Superintendent position which will supervise and manage the Public Works and Building Maintenance departments.   Currently, the departments are supervised and managed separately through separate department heads. With oversight of all facilities and the public works infrastructure operations and maintenance under one manager, we will have greater flexibility in terms of planning maintenance, better utilizing staff to accomplish work, and cross train in areas that require certification resulting in more efficient and effective response to the County and communities needs. Should the request be approved, the Public Works Superintendent and Building and Maintenance Supervisor position will be combined into one position ultimately resulting in a salary cost savings.   Staff recommends approval of the position effective January 2, 2023.   The Budget Committee reviewed this request on December 14, 2022 and recommends approval.
