D.1) Discussion and consideration of approval to purchase a 2005 Freightliner M2106 Crew Cab for $70,000 with authorization of up to $5,000 for shipping and up to $25,000 for paint and remount materials to replace a current chassis that is inoperable with funds available through Fire District grant funds, contract revenue, and reimbursable items. Purchasing this replacement chassis will allow the Fire District to extend the useful life of the existing 3,000-gallon tank and pump system while improving fleet reliability and emergency response capability. This apparatus will support water supply, fire suppression, and emergency response in rural areas where access to hydrants or reliable water supply may be limited. The District currently has a 3,000-gallon tank and pump system mounted on an existing chassis. The current chassis is in inoperable condition and is no longer suitable for continued Fire District use. The tank and pump system are already in the District’s possession and will be removed from the inoperable chassis and remounted onto the replacement Freightliner chassis. The existing inoperable chassis will be returned to the Nevada Division of Forestry.
