H.1) Discussion and consideration of approval to accept federal excess equipment from the Nevada Division of Forestry (NDF) with minimal fiscal impact utilizing funds that are available through reimbursement funds and would include refurbishment, upfitting, and installation.  NDF would be providing cost-sharing of refurbishment on at least one vehicle for cross-staffing. Through coordination with the Nevada Division of Forestry (NDF), the Elko County Fire Protection District has received Federal Excess equipment, including five heavy-duty vehicles, generators, and one tractor which have been evaluated at the district for possible use and repurposing.The five heavy-duty vehicles will be converted into tactical water tenders and one brush engine by mounting tanks and pumps currently available from NDF and the District on existing equipment. These units will replace aging apparatus across the district and expand water tender capacity for wildland fire response.Generator distribution includes: Three generators to be installed at rural volunteer fire department stations to improve resilience and continuity of operations One state-owned generator to replace an existing generator at Station 28 Continued coordination to locate an additional excess generator to support the Jarbidge water system A small tractor (John Deere). The tractor will be utilized for fuels mitigation projects within Elko County communities This opportunity allows the District to modernize equipment, operational and mitigation capacity, and improve infrastructure resilience through federal partnerships at significantly reduced cost.
