I.2) Discussion and consideration to allow Elko County Juvenile Detention Center (EJDC) to apply for the Nevada Department of Public Safety (NV DPS) Office of Criminal Justice Assistance (OCJA) Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant (JAG) funding opportunity for a full-body security scanner in the amount of $191,750.
EJDC proposes the acquisition and implementation of a full-body security scanner to improve the safety and security of detained youth and staff while reducing reliance on invasive unclothed searches. Three quotes were requested with two vendors responding. No matching funds are required.
