H.1) Discussion and consideration to accept a Joining Forces Program grant award in the amount of $22,000 from the Nevada Department of Public Safety, Office of Traffic Safety, and the National Highway Safety Administration (NHTSA). This program aims at partnering with state, local, and non-profit organizations to address traffic safety problems in Nevada. The Elko County Sheriff's Office will focus on conducting high-visibility enforcement of Nevada's seat belt, child passenger, impaired driving, distracted driving, speed, and pedestrian laws with this funding.   The Sheriff's Office will cover the 25% match requirement through funds already budgeted for salaries.
