E.2) Discussion and consideration to authorize the Elko County Fire Protection District to solicit applications from interested volunteer fire departments (VFDs) within Elko County to request financial assistance for the construction of new fire stations or the remodel/rehabilitation of existing stations.   The intent of this program is to ensure safe, functional, and sustainable facilities for VFD operations, support volunteer recruitment and retention, and improve emergency response capacity throughout Elko County.  Applications received will be reviewed by the Fire Protection District for eligibility and funding prioritization, and recommendations will be presented to the Board of County Commissioners for final approval.
