Re: Re-zoning Appeal Applications in Spring Creek
Greetings, Commissioners:
We have lived in Tract 100 of Marina Hills in Spring Creek for over 20 years. We oppose Ventures Management’s appeal to rezone in Spring Creek, filed by Dusty Shipp.
Clearly, as the Planning Commission has ruled, this business venture, which would significantly increase Spring Creek population density, is an unacceptable threat to our safety and quality of life due to:
• Excessive strain on our already insufficient water supplies,
• Limitation of egress which already has a history of periodic dangerous and unacceptable traffic gridlock (from fires, train derailment, and motor vehicle accidents),
• Possible interference with wildlife migration and habitat of numerous species,
• Increased light pollution and noise in our residential rural area,
• Unwanted changes to property value and taxes,
• Increased pollution of fragile desert soils and flora.
Let us solve some of the problems already experienced by our community before adding the strain of a new development. We are asking you to vote to deny the appeal and the attempt to change, for profit, the original intent, promise, beauty, and safety of our rural community and environment.
Thank you,
Andy and Jan Boyer
