Thank you for the opportunity to comment on the Elko County Elk Management Plan. The NCA opposes any planting, transplanting, relocating, or releasing Elk in Nevada. NCA believes the current plan is adequate and should not be opened up for change. The resources and recreational opportunities are in a sustainable balance and one shouldn't change the plan when things are working. Reasonable management is in place and should be maintained.

Jon Griggs from Maggie Creek Ranch thanks for the opportunity to comment. We have enjoyed landowner conservation elk tags in the past and although we have not received any the past few years, we are opposed to opening elk plans. With the loss of habitat due to wildland fire, elk herd health concerns and the influence of out of state elk due to wolf pressure, now is the time to let NDOW professionals do the important work of managing our herds, not the extensive work of planning.
