K.1) Update report from Elko County Fire Protection District personnel regarding the local response to the massive Wildfires in Southern California. The Nevada Department of Emergency Management requested any and all resources that could be sent from the State to assist in the efforts to control the fires. ECFPD sent an engine with three firefighters to Southern California. They were paired with engines from Story County Fire District, Truckee Meadows Fire District, Reno Fire Department and the Nevada Division of Forestry to make up the strike team from Nevada. Reimbursement will be made through the Federal Contract with the Fire District. Over the years, Elko County has benefited when fire fighting resources such as personnel and equipment from other areas of the Country came to our aid when wildfire activity has overwhelmed local response.
