M.2) Review and possible action regarding elected official salary increase for the FY 2016/2017 fiscal year. Pursuant to NRS 245.043(4) and (5) the Board of County Commissioners may freeze those increases if it is determined that sufficient financial resources are not available. Currently the anticipated ending fund balance for the General Fund is at 6% and should be at 8.3% to maintain cash flow. The estimated fiscal impact is $42,229.00.
Agenda item M.2 is consistent with the feelings of most of the members of the Elko County Employees Association because they feel that if one group of employees is to have their wages frozen, then all persons who receive a paycheck from the County should have theirs frozen as well. No County employee should get pay increases when others are being asked to freeze or reduce their pay.
Please treat everyone, including management, the same.
